This Summer, Choose "Yes" with Intention

July 25, 2025

Summer is here—and with it comes a wave of tempting “yes” moments: last-minute getaways, concert tickets, patio dinners, and travel upgrades. It’s easy to get swept up in the excitement. But before you swipe your card, consider a different approach—one that successful business owners often take: asking the right questions before making a commitment.

Think of it as mindful spending—making intentional choices with your money by asking:
•    Does this expense support my bigger financial goals?
•    Do I have the budget (and peace of mind) to enjoy this without stress?
•    What’s the real cost—including what I might be giving up elsewhere?
•    Am I doing this for joy . . . or just to avoid FOMO?
•    What trade-offs am I making—and are they worth it?

Mindful spending isn’t about saying no to everything. It’s about aligning your purchases with your values and long-term vision. It’s understanding why you spend, not just how much—and making sure each “yes” adds something meaningful.

You don’t need to overspend to create a memorable summer. In fact, when your financial decisions reflect your priorities, you’ll likely enjoy those experiences even more.

If you’d like help building a financial plan that supports both today’s fun and tomorrow’s security, I’m here to help you chart that course.
